CLIMB IN, JUMP IN, OR DIVE IN--JUST GET IN THE WATER

If you really want to experience Flood, than you have to get in the water. Flood's mission is to lead people into a passionate relationship with Jesus Christ. We believe a primary way to fulfill this mission is through service. Not just the Sunday night service, but service from people to people through different ministries. Check out all of these great opportunities.

DESIGNATED DRIVERS
Drunk driving kills over 17,000 Americans each year and causes over 700,000 injuries each year. The largest majority of those killed and injured are young adults ages 21-29, specifically males. Because of this fact, The Designated Drivers Association focuses on enlisting these people to help their peers and help themselves by using their service if they are ever in a time of need. To accomplish this, DDA outreaches to the Pacific Beach and Gaslamp areas and promote our program heavily at all colleges, universities and military installations. DDA's program is very simple; they operate every Friday, Saturday and holiday night from 10 p.m. until 2 a.m. in Pacific Beach, Gaslamp and Poway. Volunteers are paired into teams of two, preferably one male and one female. When a call for help comes in, the dispatcher will dispatch the telephone number of the person(s) in need via Nextel radio. A volunteer will then contact the citizen(s) in need and get directions to their location, once on the scene one and everything checks out on volunteer will drive the impaired person's vehicle while the other volunteer follows in the "chase" vehicle. Of course there are many rules and safety precautions that we follow to ensure that our volunteers are safe from the harm of patrons and vice versa. To volunteer, contact: 619.726.8290, or check out the DDA website: http://www.ddasd.org.

International Christian Fellowship
Area to Serve Fridays, at 6:30pm, in the Student Center (@CABC). The group has dinner at 6:30pm, worship, and a short program. The idea is that you would connect with internationals who are going to school here in San Diego. Then, hopefully, over time, you would build friendships with students, while they practice their English with you, etc. For these students their financial or intellectual ability to study here in the US is a pretty good indicator of their potential influence in their respective countries. These internationals are the cream of the crop and have amazing potential to make change in their home countries, so influence one person here and essentially you are having an impact on their entire homeland.
